Growing up, I mostly used Instagram as my social media platform. I interacted with friends, classmates, and people who shared my interests. Instagram helped me stay connected and discover new ideas and information. In my future career, I could use social media to connect with other teachers and find classroom ideas and resources. I went to a digitally rich private school that gave students their own computers. We also had access to many online tools for learning and completing assignments. This experience helped prepare me for the technology I use in college today. I think my school could have taught us more about using technology for creativity and collaboration and also maybe some more websites that helped you with sourcing.   In my future classroom, I would like to use Google Docs for group writing projects. Students could work together and make changes to the same document. I could use it for assignments where students share ideas and give each other feedback. Before...

As a teacher you have a difficult time dealing with copyright and fair use issues when it comes to learning and your students. If I were a teacher I would be careful on teaching my students what to do with information and material they get online. I know when I was in middle school I accidentally plagiarized some information I got on a scholarly source. It ended up being a valuable learning lesson which I was able to grow off of.  Using technology in the classrooms can have both positives and negatives. A negative, for example, would be academic dishonesty. The internet is an unlimited world of knowledge and almost any question might have can be answered almost instantly. With this information it is easy to plagiarize and have academic distention so teachers must be extremely careful in reminding students to be careful with the information they find and what they do with it.  I acquired many skills while making my newsletter during the assignment that can be beneficial t...

I do not had a lot of experience when is comes to MS Word. I remember in my 8th grade English class we had to do a paper using MS Word and I did not have any trouble with it. My first year in college at Virginia Tech we also used MS Word for my English class. I definitely prefer google docs simply because I use it all the time, its easily accessible, and it is just another tab.  I found 2.3 The Citizen to be one of the most important standards I read. It is super beneficial to have participation in class which shows engagement. It was important to me because when I look back on previous classes those that engage with me I learn the most from. If I were a teacher I would make sure all projects or assignments are engaging for students to really have the opportunity to engage in class.  I agree with the label because kids growing up with all this technology are going to surpass older adults that had a late starting point. These adults didn't get the chance to grow up in all...

I hope to learn how to take my technology skills from this class to the outside world. I have never been great with technology, so this would be a big step for me. I hope to figure out how to use creative websites like Canva to help teach others in case my job calls for it. I also hope to learn my way simply creating better ways to show information than on google slides.  I realistically have little to no experience when it comes using technology in an educational setting. The little experience I do have comes from google slides presentations I have given my peers over my time in school. This could be just in class on a project I was working on or something I had to research to graduate. Regardless of how I used it, google slides has been the only form of technology I have ever used to teach.  Something that has been a little new for me that I have picked up and wanted to learn about has been golf. I started a couple summers ago and have slowly progressed. Instead spendi...
